 571.  Deputy John Deasy Information on John Deasy Zoom on John Deasy  asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport Information on Leo Varadkar Zoom on Leo Varadkar  the funding available from him for new tourism initiatives; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29960/11]

[324]Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport (Deputy Leo Varadkar): Information on Leo Varadkar Zoom on Leo Varadkar There is provision in 2011 for expenditure of almost €148 million on tourism services across a diverse range of activities such as marketing, tourism product development, registration and grading, business supports and tourism information offices. All of these monies are voted for use by the State tourism agencies, Fáilte Ireland, Tourism Ireland and the Shannon Free Airport Development Company. I have referred the Deputy’s question to these agencies for direct reply concerning funding available for new tourism initiatives. The Deputy should advise my private office if he does receive a reply within ten working days.
